Gent Vigilon Compact

Gent Vigilon Compact

The latest addition to the well respected Vigilon analogue addressable fire detection and alarm system.

What's different?

The Vigilon Compact 1-2 loop panel was designed to meet the fire protection needs of small to medium sized building owners. The introduction of innovative design features into this panel means that the wall space needed to mount the panel is now 60% smaller than a standard Vigilon installation.

Vigilon Compact offers the small to medium sized business owners the unique system functionality of Vigilon with the market leading control panel aesthetics – stainless steel door options are available to provide a discreet and luxurious feel in upmarket office environments.

Xenex

Gent Xenex

Xenex conventional fire detection and alarm system provides owners of small building premises with quality protection equipment at an economical price. The system is Loss Prevention Certification Board (LPCB) approved to EN 54: Parts 2 & 4, the Xenex control panel can be used on installations meeting BS 5839. Part 1. Control panel options for 1 – 8 zones can be specified.

Utilising LPCB approved conventional smoke or heat detectors (also incorporating S-Cubed alarm devices), Xenex offers exceptional value for money.

Gent S-Cubed Alarm Devices

Conventional and Vigilon analogue addressable systems:

The S-Cubed range of alarm sounders incorporates sound, speech and strobe effects all in one range of alarm devices. The range offers all variants in the choice of two colours red or white with either a shallow base version sealed to IP31 or a deep base version sealed to IP65. All of the low profile sounders have the option of an integral strobe that is completely loop powered.

As an aid to commissioning there is the option to use the Handilink IR remote control to turn on individual sounders and adjust the volume remotely. This means that physical access is not required to make this adjustment and is only active when the sounders are turned on from the fire alarm panel (conventional situation) or this adjustment is only active during the commissioning process (Vigilon analogue addressable situation).

Vigilon analogue addressable systems only:

With the introduction of voice enhanced sounders into the Vigilon range we now have the option of having a S-Cubed loop powered bell sound for the first time as well as standard speech messages. Password access at the control panel is required to enable remote access to S-Cubed devices so it is not possible to make this adjustment accidentally or maliciously.

Air Aspirating

The air aspirating system reliably measures very low to extremely high concentrations of smoke to detect a fire at the earliest possible stage.

Air is drawn into the system through a network of air sampling pipes by a high efficiency aspirator. Each inlet pipe has an airflow sensor that monitors airflow changes in the pipes. Air is exhausted from the system and maybe vented back into the protected system.

Deaf Alerter

Deaf Alerter is a radio based fire alarm warning and public address messaging system for deaf and hard of hearing people. It solves the problems that they cannot hear audible alarm or public address systems.

Widely installed in the UK, Deaf Alerter is now being installed worldwide.

Deaf Alerter is primarily used for fire alarm and public address messaging. It can also be used for bomb evacuation warning, personal on-site paging (text messages), equipment alarm warning and security staff messaging.

In residential properties the system is enhanced with the Night Cradle to provide messaging and wake-up features for deaf people whilst in bed.

Disabled Refuge

Disabled Refuge

A disabled refuge system is a communication system designed especially for use within a building, which contains Refuge Areas. The system enables Fire Officers/Building Management to keep in contact throughout an emergency situation with disabled people who are kept from danger in Refuge Areas until it is possible to move them to safety.

In the event of a fire, or another emergency, staff evacuate wheelchair-bound occupants to a designated place of safety (Refuge Area). Staff then activate the Refuge Area Remote Unit, which lights a Refuge Occupied indicator on the main Control Panel. The Fire Officer or Building Manager is able to communicate with the occupants, either on an individual basis or by using the ‘all call’ option.

Emergency Lighting

Emergency Lighting

Fire Security Ltd also offers a range of services for emergency lighting equipment. This includes the supply, installation and testing of various types of self contained fittings off local lighting circuits, as well as the testing and servicing of Central Battery Systems and their component parts. We can also supply and install replacement charger units/cubicles and source various types of replacement cells if required.

For clients with existing fire alarm service contracts we can provide an exceptionally cost effective combined package, tailored to suit individual systems requirements. As the tests on emergency lights are carried out bi-annually, we combine these with the quarterly tests on the fire alarm system, therefore for a relatively small increase both systems can be tested with little fuss.

Fire Prevention

Fire Prevention

All current forms of fire detection and extinguishing rely on one simple fact - a fire must have already started. No matter how good the fire protection is, some damage will occur. The ultimate form of fire protection is thus to prevent fires from happening in the first place, which is how Oxyreduct differs from all other traditional systems.

An open fire cannot occur or sustain itself if there is a lack of oxygen in the atmosphere. Inert gas extinguishing systems have used this principle successfully for many years, but crucially there must have already been a fire for the extinguishant to be released.

Oxyreduct employs innovative technology that continuously reduces the oxygen level in a room (to around 15% depending on infrastructure variables) by adding nitrogen to the air. The oxygen is reduced to a level in which most combustibles do not inflame and an open fire is impossible. Importantly, people can enter the area of risk for up to six hours requiring only a 30-minute break outside the protected area.

Typical applications that have already been protected include: IT Areas, Comms rooms, Archives, Museums, Cold and Freezer storage, Warehousing and Plant rooms.

Fixed Extinguished Gas Suppression

Fixed Extinguishant Gas Suppression

A clean, safe and environmentally friendly gaseous extinguishing agent internationally accepted and approved as one of the leading choices for the protection of people, high value assets and business continuity.

It is electrically non-conductive, occupies minimal storage space and has zero effect on the earth's stratospheric ozone layer. Its primary action is through cooling the fire and removing heat energy so that the combustion reaction cannot be sustained

This pace-setting compound does more than prevent fire damage. Containing no particulates or residues, it virtually eliminates the risk of damage to delicate equipment caused by the extinguishant itself.

Gas Detection

Gas Detection

Many innovative design concepts in conjunction with stringent quality control systems are used to produce instrumentation that is recognised worldwide as being of the highest quality by many of today's leading international chemical, pharmaceutical and semiconductor companies.

In these applications, safety is ensured around the clock by a fixed gas detection system. Hazards can have several origins: the release of toxic gases, oxygen deficiency or enrichment as well as the presence of combustible gases and vapours. When detected at an early stage, countermeasures can be initiated to protect personnel, workplaces and equipment.

Linear Heat Detection

Linear Heat Detection

A Linear Heat Detector is a proprietary cable that detects heat anywhere along its length. The sensor cable is comprised of two steel conductors individually insulated with a heat sensitive polymer. The insulated conductors are twisted together to impose a spring pressure between them, and then wrapped with a protective tape and finished with an outer jacket suitable for the environment in which the Detector will be installed.

The cable is a fixed temperature digital sensor and is therefore capable of initiating an alarm once it’s rated activation temperature is reached. At the rated temperature the heat sensitive polymer yields to the pressure upon it, permitting the inner conductors to move into contact with each other thereby initiating the alarm signal.
